BBQ COOKOFF

RULES
*Setup Time - 5am to 6am (protean pick up in fellowship hall during this time) ……… (two parking spaces per participant)
*Team/Pitmaster’s Briefing – 6:05am to 6:20am
*Heat up grills and meat prep – 6:20am…… (NO gas nor electric grills allowed; Charcoal and/or Wood burning grills ONLY) ***Fire-Extinguisher is required for every participant/team***
*Meat on grills – 7am (or any time after; two grills will be allowed ONLY for a two-protein cook)
Turn-in Times:
Ribs………… 11am
Chicken……... 1pm
Announcement of Winner(s) – 3pm
*No open face plates/turn-ins (plate must have an openable or removable lid) non-compartmental to-go/take-out plate with a hinged lid is recommended
*Participants\Teams shall consist of 1 to 3 members Only; Non-team members are not allowed in pit-row
*No dumping of coals on the premises
3 to 5 Judges…… Judging categories: Presentation, Taste & Texture
Each category payout: 1st Place-$500 2nd Place-$300 3rd Place-$200; Bonus…. People’s Choice Recognition Award
Feel free to let the people sample your cook for a possible People’s choice vote…… also, bring or prepare on site, sides for the people to sample if you’d like.
Any violation of Rules will result in a Disqualification. This event takes place on Saturday, May 25th, 2024.
